I joined the Nike team out in Los Angeles last week for the launch of the Kobe 8 system. To represent the new shoe and Kobe’s speed, the space for the event had been designed with hundreds of paper airplanes suspended and each creation had the branding of the new Kobe sneaker. It was spectacular! It is always such an honor and pleasure to work with the people at Nike because they dont bother to do anything unless it is PERFECT. It makes me show up with my A+ Game and while I work my ass off, I know everyone else is right there with me – Kobe included. Kobe was a pleasure to photograph as he always is even though he was a bit under the weather. He even made a point to stick around to look at the final shots with this one being one of his favorites from the day.

Last week Nike held their Olympic Summit to announce new technologies for London 2012. I am not a gadget girl and Im not too product obsessed but Wow! Nike could make you both. Cant wait to get my hands on the new sneakers, a FUEL band and start taking advantage of the Nike+ innovations. Once I got over the excitement of all of the cool products that Nike would be releasing, it was time to photograph the athletes and launch. I had never worked with Manny Pacquiao, Victor Cruz or Allyson Felix but I would have about 2 minutes to create a portrait of the three of them. Thankfully all of the athletes were excited to be meeting one another and looking forward to having their photograph taken together.

It is always an honor to get the call from the team at Nike for their photo needs. This past week was no exception at the launch of the new Nike FUEL. I had the good fortune to photograph, for the first time, the legendary athletes Lance Armstrong and Carmelita Jeter. I also shot future NBA MVP Kevin Durant who I have worked with countless times before. Looking forward to shooting him again at this years All Star Game. Thanks to the Nike team and my kick ass photo crew who helped to make the day a success.

I am just about recovered after a phenomenal, but exhausting, week shooting with Nike for the World Basketball Festival in New York. I worked with the Nike team to photograph one player from each of the 5 countries represented in the tournament. We created content on each individual athlete and then created a group shot that would represent the event. The week was great and the 5 players we shot – Kevin Durant from the US, Yi Jian Lian from China, Boris Diaw from France,Carlos Arroyo from Puerto rico and Anderson Verrajao from Brazil – were excited to be a part of the project. While I love the group shot we did, I think my favorite image is the shot below of Kevin Durant.
